ECHELLE CANADA has implemented a secure and effective IT systems management policy to protect the company’s data and the personal data it processes.

1. What data do we collect?

ECHELLE CANADA may collect personal data directly from you or indirectly through third parties. In accordance with the principle of data minimization, we only collect data that is necessary for our processing purposes and for which you have given your consent.
The different categories of data collected when you subscribe to and use our services are as follows:
Identification data (first and last name in particular);
Contact information (postal or email address) ;
Usage data (web pages and products consulted, search queries and requests);
Connection and browsing (including your computer’s IP address, connection and log ins);
Transaction data (order history, contact store, complaints);
Location data.

2. Why do we collect data?

ECHELLE CANADA uses your personal data mainly for the following purposes:
For the performance of a contract: management of the order and customer relations, management of the customer account and customer authentication, payment of the order, communication with the customer (technical and commercial assistance), management of pre-litigation, litigation and unpaid bills, management of the rights and requests to exercise the rights of individuals, provision and operation of services, hosting of customer data;
For commercial and prospecting purposes: customer knowledge, the statistics and performance of our site, targeting of advertising messages, enrichment and enhancement of the customer/prospects base;
Fraud prevention and security of our site.

3. How long is your data retained?

We will only retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the above-mentioned purposes or to meet our legal obligations.
Personal data used for commercial prospecting purposes can be kept for a maximum of three (3) years from the end of the commercial relationship.

4. Who are the recipients?

Your personal data may be processed by authorized personnel of ECHELLE CANADA and L’ECHELLE EUROPEENNE, ECHELLE EUROPEENNE network stores and ECHELLE CANADA and L’ECHELLE EUROPEENNE partners or service providers.
If these recipients are required to process your data outside Canada, the transfers will be carried out in compliance with the Regulations.

5. What level of security do we ensure for your data?

We have defined technical and organizational measures to protect your data in a manner appropriate to the nature, scope and accessibility of the data. Such measures may include, for example, managing access rights or secure data flows.
All our employees, service providers, and partners are required to respect the security and protection of your data.

6. What are your rights?

In accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in force since April 13, 2000, you may, at any time, request access to your personal information and, if necessary, lodge a complaint, under the conditions set out in the Regulations.
You have the right to modify or withdraw, at any time, the consents you have granted to us for the processing of your personal data.
You also have the right to request the rectification of your personal data if it is inaccurate or incomplete, or to have it updated.
Your personal data may be stored or deleted after your death in accordance with the Regulations. You have the right to instruct ECHELLE CANADA to convey this data to a third party designated by you.
Also, in the event of a breach of your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint, either directly with our Service Department, whose contact details are given in the following paragraph, or with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
